Review Guidelines & Content Removal Policy
Last updated: August 8, 2026
1. Who can write a review
Reviews must be based on your own firsthand experience as a current or former member of the community. Don't review a community you've never joined, and don't review on behalf of someone else.
2. Be honest — critical is fine
Positive reviews, negative reviews, and strong opinions are all welcome, as long as they reflect your genuine experience. Describe what happened to you, what you found useful, and what disappointed you. When making specific factual claims (for example, about billing or refunds), stick to what you personally experienced — and be ready to provide supporting evidence if the claim is disputed. Opinion is protected; presenting unverified accusations as established fact is not.
3. What's not allowed
- Fake reviews, reviews written in exchange for payment or rewards, or coordinated review campaigns.
- Reviews of a community you own, work for, or operate — or of a direct competitor to your own community.
- Threats, harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory content.
- Other people's personal information (real names beyond a creator's public name, addresses, phone numbers, private messages).
- Spam, promotional content, links to other products or services, or affiliate links.
- Content unrelated to the community being reviewed.
- Unsupported accusations of crimes or fraud stated as unquestionable facts.
4. Incentives
We may occasionally reward review participation (for example, a monthly giveaway open to any honest reviewer). We never reward positive sentiment, and neither may community owners. "Leave a 5-star review and get X" violates these guidelines; if we find reviews were incentivized that way, we remove them.
5. How moderation works
Submitted reviews may be checked (by automated systems and by humans) before or after publication. We may approve, reject, request edits, remove, or verify any review. We may fix obvious formatting issues without changing meaning. Fraud-prevention signals (like duplicate text and suspicious submission patterns) are part of this process.
6. Owner responses
Verified community owners may post one public response per review. Responses appear beneath the review, clearly labeled as an official owner response, and must follow these same content rules. Owners cannot edit or hide reviews.
7. Content removal — what qualifies
We remove reviews that violate these guidelines, and we correct or remove content shown to be factually false. We do not remove reviews because:
- The owner disagrees with the reviewer's opinion.
- The review is negative or unflattering.
- The owner offers payment or partnership in exchange for removal (this may result in removal of the owner's claimed status).
8. Reporting a review
Anyone can report a review they believe violates these guidelines — owners from their dashboard, everyone else at reports@communityreviewer.com. Include the review, which guideline you believe it violates, and any evidence. We review reports promptly; our decision is final, though you may submit new evidence for reconsideration.
9. Consequences
Violations may result in content removal, loss of verified status, account suspension, or a permanent ban. Attempts to manipulate ratings (fake reviews, review swaps, incentivized 5-stars) may be noted publicly on the affected community's profile.
